I had a wonderful day today at one of the most beautiful vineyards I’ve been to in awhile.  With the long weekend, it was the kind of day you decide to spend with friends, doing something a little different than you normally would. Today I spent it with my dear friend at The Winery at La Grange.

The tasting room was warm and inviting as we made our way in from the cold Virginia air. We started with the white wines, and really enjoyed the Chardonnay. It was sweet and light with a hint of pear and vanilla oak. There was also a Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Frank and a few others, but we kept going back to the Chardonnay. We decided to enjoy a glass and sit out on the porch with a nice warm french sourdough baguette, and a chunk of Irish Cheddar cheese. Just divine.
